NTPEP conducts laboratory testing of reinforced geosynthetics through Texas Research International. TRI is accredited by Geosynthetics Accreditation Institute / Laboratory Assessment Program located at Drexel University, Pennsylvania. AASHTO/NTPEP is proud that TRI is among the small handful of labs nationwide achieving accreditation throught GAI/LAP. The resulting value provided to the program has particular significance within the geotextiles industry.
NTPEP is neither a "third party" or "independent" testing agency, nor does it compete with other private testing firms; rather, NTPEP provides the end user with reliable, original test data upon which decisions can be made for product approvals. NTPEP data does not address project-level QC/QA testing, which are commonly done by state DOT materials division and private testing firms.
